BACK TO ALOLA

My name is Ermelinda Ho'ara. I come from Atambua. I married an East Timorese. Therefore I consider myself to be an East Timorese, too. My work is weaving Atambua tais which we learned from our ancestors. I too have learned and now I know how to weave.

Ermelinda HoaraNow, all of us from Atambua have formed a weaving group to weave Atambua tais. We are working hard so that our tais are marketable. We need funds as capital to further these efforts in the future.

We hope that our tais can be sold so that we can have savings for our future and for the future of our families and children, and also money to pay for our children's schooling and for our everyday needs. I appeal for support so that this weaving project can continue. I hope for some action to be taken based on what I have said - I wish for our Atambua tais to be promoted because we are also East Timorese.
