The “Alola Foundation” is a non-government organization, operating in Timor Leste to improve the lives of women and children. The organization seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women, our motto is “Strong Women, Strong Nation” and we have programs in Maternal & Child Health, Advocacy, Education and Economic Development. Alola Foundation is led by a Board of Management and currently moving towards a management team that is entirely Timorese led.
Currently we are looking for Timorese qualified persons to fill the following positions as;
CANCER CARE NURSE OF HALIKU PROJECT, MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM, FUNDASAUN ALOLA, the Nurse at the Women’s Cancer Support Centre to ensure that we attract and hire qualified individuals who align with our values and can contribute positively to our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment:
- Conduct initial assessments of patients’ health status, including physical and emotional well-being.
- Monitor vital signs and symptoms of patients during their stay at the center.
- Education and Counseling:
- Educate patients and their families about cancer
- Provide emotional support and counseling to help patients cope with their diagnosis and treatment.
- Care Coordination:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and support services as needed.
- Patient Advocacy:
- Act as an advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
- Educate patients about research options when applicable.
- Monitoring and Follow-up:
- Regularly assess in patient conditions.
- Schedule and oversee routine follow-up visits, ensuring continuity of care.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare including medical doctor’s advice related to patients care.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans in patient’s health records
- Update and manage communication channels, including phone, email, and social media.
- Administrative Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers, offering exceptional customer service.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
- Financial Management:
- Manage office supplies and equipment procurement, including tracking inventory and processing purchase orders.
- Prepare daily meals plan and submit to HALIKU Coordinator
- Data Management:
- Maintain and organize patient data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for staff.
- Generate reports and assist with data analysis to support operational and quality improvement initiatives.
- Event Coordination:
- Organize and coordinate patient education events, support groups, and outreach programs to raise awareness about women’s cancer health initiatives.
- Support special projects and initiatives as directed by management.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent nursing degree.
- Skills and Competencies:
– Strong clinical assessment skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under stress.
