The “Alola Foundation” is a non government organization, operating in Timor-Leste to improve the lives of women and children.  The organization seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women, our motto is “Strong Women, Strong Nation” and we have programs in Maternal & Child Health, Advocacy, Education and Economic Development. Alola Foundation is led by a Board of Management and currently moving towards a management team that is entirely Timorese led.

Currently we are looking for Timorese qualified person (1) to fill the following positions as;

COMMUNITY BASED PRE-SCHOOL PROJECT COORDINATOR, EDUCATION PROGRAM, FUNDASAUN ALOLA, 

to Improve quality of freedom and access to education.

Roles & Responsibilities:

In close coordination with Alola Education Program Manager, the position will responsible for overall implementation, coordination and preparing budget for Community-Based Preschool (CBPS) project in Ermera and Viqueque, include but not limited to:

  1. Maintain and create a strong coordination and collaboration with partners and donors including local authorities, School Management Committee (SMC), parents and communities for the implementation and development of CBPS project.
  2. Ensure the implementation of CBPS project is based on its planning and agreement with donors and partners.
  3. Planning the activities of CBPS, such as annual and monthly plan, training to facilitators and school management committee (SMC).
  4. In close collaboration with project staff (2 Project Officers and 9 Field Officers) to ensure the smoot implementation of CBPS activities including coordination and collaboration with donors and partners.
  5. Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to submit to Education Program Manager.
  6. In collaboration with project staff and International Volunteers develop learning resource materials by using local materials and develop manuals.
  7. In collaboration with project staff participate or lead the training to facilitators, SMC members and parents, such as: refresher training, parenting education training and etc.
  8. Organize and maintain CBPS project data and information based on AF filing system, including learning resources and electronic devices.
  9. Supervise project staff in Ermera and Viqueque for their regular monitoring and classroom observation.
  10. Participate in education program regular meeting – weekly or monthly.
  11. Lead or support other events in CBPS project or education program or Alola events when required.
  12. Perform additional responsibilities when requested by Education Program Manager and CEO.

Selection Criteria – Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in education preferable in pre-school.
  • Have more than 3 years of experience working in pre-school project.
  • Experience in providing trainings to adults.
  • Experience in monitoring, mentoring and providing feedback to teachers or facilitators.
  • Able to prepare work plan and write project reports in Tetun and English.
  • Able to work in team or alone.
  • Experiences supervise project staff preferable in educational related areas.
  • Proficient in English.
