Alola is a not for profit non-governmental organisation operating in Timor-Leste to improve the lives of women and children.
Founded in 2001 by the then First Lady, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmao, the organisation seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women. Our mission is Feto Forte Nasaun Forte - Strong Women, Strong Nation.
The Alola Shop is located beside our Dili office. It contains high quality products made from woven cotton cloth made by women in Timor-Leste. We also have a selection of high quality traditional tais - the clothes made and used by the Timorese for generations throughout the districts of Timor. These tais are for display and sale.
